Edamana N. Balamurali Namboothiri is a Hindu priest from Kerala, India. He served as the Melsanthi (chief priest) of the Sabarimala Sree Ayyappa Temple during the 2011–2012 term. He was selected for the position by the Travancore Devaswom Board in October 2011.

Early life and education
Balamurali Namboothiri belongs to the Edamana Illam family and is the son of Neelakanta Sarma. He received his initial instruction in temple worship from his father and relatives.
He later studied at Thanthra Vidyapeetham, Aluva, where he completed a six-year Thanthra Ratnam course in Tantric and temple ritual traditions. Contemporary reports identify him as holding the Thanthra Ratnam qualification from the institution.
Priesthood
Before his appointment at Sabarimala, Balamurali Namboothiri served as Melsanthi of Puthiyakavu Bhagavathi Temple in Kollam. Contemporary reports published in 2011 stated that he had served there since 1995, apart from a period of approximately one year when he served at Attukal Bhagavathi Temple in Thiruvananthapuram.
In 2010, he was appointed Melsanthi of Attukal Bhagavathi Temple for a one-year term. Reports of the appointment identified him as a Thanthra Ratnam from Thanthra Vidyapeetham, Aluva.
Sabarimala Melsanthi
On 18 October 2011, Balamurali Namboothiri was selected as the Melsanthi of the Sabarimala Sree Ayyappa Temple for the 2011–2012 term. The selection was conducted by the Travancore Devaswom Board and involved interviews followed by the customary drawing of lots.
He assumed office in November 2011. At the time of his selection, he was 39 years old. As Melsanthi, he conducted the daily rituals and worship at the Sabarimala temple in accordance with its established ritual practices.
His term included the annual Mandala-Makaravilakku pilgrimage season.
Later activities
Following his tenure at Sabarimala, Balamurali Namboothiri continued to participate in activities related to temple traditions and religious institutions.
In 2015, he was reported as a member of a committee involved in the selection of priests for temples administered by the Travancore Devaswom Board. A 2018 Kerala High Court judgment also recorded his participation on an interview board for the selection of a priest at the P.D. Manikanteswaram temple.
He has participated in religious programmes and activities associated with Kerala’s Tantric tradition. In 2022, he delivered a discourse at a Bhagavatha Parayanam programme in Kollam. In 2023, he participated in a state conference of the Akhila Kerala Thanthri Mandalam.
In 2024, he was reported as holding the position of Treasurer of Thanthra Vidyapeetham, Aluva. He also participated in a traditional Irumudikkettu ceremony associated with S. Arunkumar Namboothiri, who was selected as Sabarimala Melsanthi for the 2024–2025 term.
